The patent case clock was made during the brief period Jerome worked for Wm. L. Gilbert a year after Jerome’s bankruptcy in 1856. The Jerome & Co. is (I believe) one of the few such labeled clocks that was actually made by Chauncey Jerome (the Jerome Manufacturing Co.) and not by the New Haven Clock Co.
