How does music affect us?
Research suggests music can influence us a lot. It can impact illness, depression, spending, productivity and our perception of the world. Some research has suggested it can increase aggressive thoughts, or encourage crime.
Where do we use music?
Everyone engages with music to varying degrees, and how one engages with it is how he/she uses it. Some listen to it in the background of daily chores and responsibilities, making those chores more fun. Others create it by playing an instrument or singing, using music as a hobby, or perhaps even a career path.
Why does beauty make us cry?
Because crying is behavior that is meant to arouse sympathy or empathy. When we see something beautiful, we feel a desire to connect with it. We cry because if the beautiful thing we are seeing is a person, that person might be more empathetic to us.
Why do I cry when I’m happy?
Our tears release neurotransmitters known as leucine enkephalin, which can act as a natural painkiller. When people cry because they’re sad, this makes them feel better. But when people cry because they’re happy, that same neurotransmitter makes them feel that much happier. In other words, tears encourage catharsis.
