Sex Education Season 2: When Is The High-School Drama Starring Asa Butterfield And Emma Mackey Returning To The Screens?

It has just been confirmed that Netflix’s new teen comedy-drama series Sex Education, which was an instant hit with the fans on the streaming device, is coming back for another season and in fact, the filming of it has already begun.

Here’s everything we know about Sex Education season two:

When will Sex Education season two be released?

Netflix confirmed that production on season 2 has begun in May 2019 and the first read-through has taken place. Since it is claimed that it is a pretty straight forward show that can be filmed quickly, we can expect it to release either late in 2019 or early 2020.

How many episodes of Sex Education season two will there be?

There will be eight brand new episodes of the show.

Sex Education season two cast – who will return?

It’s expected that all of the cast members will return for some more drama and sex therapy shenanigans at Mooredale Secondary School given how season one ended.

Asa Butterfield obviously will return as Otis Milburn alongside Ncuti Gatwa (Eric), Emma Mackey (Maeve), Kedar Williams-Sterling (Jackson), Patricia Allison (Ola), Tanya Reynolds (Lily), Aimee-Lou Wood (Aimee) and Gillian Anderson as Jean Milburn.

What will happen in Sex Education season two?

Netflix has been pretty tight-lipped on any plot details for the second season, but series star Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Eric, told RadioTimes.com he’s hoping his character improves at playing the French horn. “I would like for Eric to get better at playing the French horn. I would also like people to know it is the French horn. People often mistake it for the trombone, but it’s not.” You tell ’em, ‘trombone’!

We suspect that other potential storylines for series two could be the future of Eric’s romance with Adam and the development of Otis and Ola’s relationship.
